About Fides

My name is Aleks, and I am an idealist.
I believe in the best and strive to bring it to life through my projects.

That’s why, 10 years ago, I created an online service for checking used cars, so buyers could know the full truth about a vehicle before purchasing it.
My startup was successful, but over time, I realized it was time to move on. It was a challenging moment—I didn’t know what I wanted to do next.

I spent a long time searching for answers until I realized that one of my favorite things has always been uncovering the truth myself and helping others do the same.

This led to the idea of creating Fides—a service that helps identify fake reviews on the internet.

I must admit, I’m a bit of a prisoner of my worldview, as many of us are. That’s why I named the service Fides.
In ancient Roman religion, Fides was the goddess of trust, faithfulness, and good faith. These principles are at the core of my new project.

Our goal is to help users determine the authenticity of reviews. This is relatively easy to achieve.

According to the theory of six degrees of separation, we are connected to almost every person on the planet.
If a real person wrote a review, you might be connected to them—not directly, but through 1–2–3 friends or their acquaintances.

Our mission is to create a tool that shows you that a specific review was written not by some random John Doe but by a real person you are connected to through one or two mutual friends.

I believe that such reviews can be trusted. We’ve already opened a waitlist. If you find this idea interesting and valuable, leave your email, and you’ll be among the first to try Fides.

Together we can make the internet a more honest place. Join us!
